Ballydonagh Solar Farm

Ballydonagh Solar Limited is owned by L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) with RES acting as planning and development consultant.

The Ballydonagh Solar Farm is expected to provide enough power for ca. 20,000 homes and abate 23,000tns of CO2 annually.

Ballydonagh SID Application

The consented Ballydonagh (planning Ref: 23/61049) and Ballydonagh Extension (planning Ref: 24/61749) solar farms are located in c1.2km east of Kiltormer town, Ballinasloe, Co Galway.

Ballydonagh Solar Limited submitted amendment planning applications to Galway County Council to amend the previously consented developments (23/61049 and 24/61749) on 19th December 2025. The proposed amendments seek minor modifications to the consented developments.

A Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) application for a 110kV substation and grid connection within Ballydonagh Solar Farm will be submitted to An Coimisiún Pleanála in the early 2026.
